The variation of photoconductivity with various parameters (wavelength, light intensity, electric field and temperature) was studied on amorphous selenium thin films. The experimental results are enable us to suggest that the films are predominantly composed of Ses rings. At low temperatures the photoconduction is controlled by the hopping in the mobility edge, whereas at room temperature the photogeneration is field-assisted.
