In practical problems, the driving function of a linear physical system can be specified only graphically and lacks an analytic representation. To find the system response, an approximation method is proposed. It is based on Fourier series and the Laplace transform, and provides an approximate solution with a minimum of effort.Il se produit, dans les problèmes pratiques, que la fonction d'excitation d'un système physique linéaire soit connue seulement de façon graphique et non pas analytique.
