This review paper is devoted mainly to a short description of two kinds of point defects in crystals : a) F and M centers in KCl ; b) light centers in zinc and cadmium sulphides. Our present ideas on luminescence centers formed by vacancies come from analogies with F and V centers in alkali halides, while our ideas on impurity centers are derived from an extension of the Bethe model for donors and acceptors in germanium and silicon. In order to arrive at the constitution of the emitting centers, the peak position and the polarisation of the emission bands are the most widely used parameters ; but the vibrational frequency of the centers gives good results in some cases.Dans ce court rapport, on s'est limité à la description a) des centres F...
