This paper implements Teaching-Learning based optimization (TLBO) to obtain optimized value of spring stiffness for better ride comfort. Further, this optimized value is then used in a semi-active quarter car setup to remove any discrepancies due to non-optimized spring. This paper also introduces a novel approach to control the Semi-active suspension parameter (damping coefficient) for a better performance. For controlling semi-active parameters, PID controller has been used. PID controller output is fed to the quarter car setup as a damping coefficient.
