We selected a group of 18 monoclonal antibodies (Moabs) from the panel submitted for study in the Workshop and have studied their cross-blocking reactivity and pattern of immunofluorescence staining using small cell lung cancer (SCLC) and small round tumour cell lines as target cells. Moabs coded 20, 32 and 53 were purified and labelled with 125l for the competition assay. We found that Moabs coded 4, 8, 14, 20, 22, 23, 28, 31, 32, 37, 46 and 53 blocked to a varying extent the binding of the radiolabelled Moabs and the degree of binding inhibition varied on different cell lines. © 1988 Elsevier Science Publishers B.V.
