Différentes méthodes de mesures de la durée de vie des états excités (excitation par impulsions lumineuses et impact électronique, détection par les techniques d'échantillonnage de fluorescence et de l'impulsion-sonde) sont passées en revue. Nous proposons un schéma pour la description de la désactivation de l'état excité tenant compte du caractère du couplage intramoléculaire et des conditions d'excitation.
