The paper presents the methods and results of the estimation of dimensions of the effective plastic zone in a steel plate after the contact explosion of a detonating cord with the use of the holographic interferometry. A shape and dimensions of the residual stressed-strained zone are determined by the control of the orientation and interference band frequency in the interferograms of the object studied.
