Nous présentons une revue de l'état actuel de l'utilisation de l'attenuation des ultrasons comme technique non-destructive pour la caractérisation de materiaux. Des exemples vont être présentes pour illustrer comment le choix approprié des paramètres expérimentaux permet l'utilisation des mesures d'attenuation d'ultrasons pour l'étude des grosseur de grains, déformation plastique, et concentration d'impuretés. Nous allons commenter les nouvelles techniques utilisant la generation et la détection de faisceaux de laser qui permettent l'emploi des mesures d'attenuation d'ultrasons à de cas non-accessibles aux méthodes plus conventionnelles et elargissant par consequent l'utilité pratique des mesures d'attenuation ultrasonique à la caracterisat...
