Nous avons utilisé la spectroscopie de perte d'énergie d'électrons par réflexion (REELS) pour suivre les transformations de phases lors de l'adsorption de l'hydrogène sur la surface (100) du tungstène. Nous proposons des modèles pour les différentes reconstructions, en accord avec les diagrammes LEED. Lorsque le taux de recouvrement en hydrogène augmente, la symétrie de la surface est brisée, à travers les déplacements atomiques perpendiculaires et parallèles à la surface.
