On a étudiées mécanismes de pénétration d'un projectile SAP à travers des cibles en acier. L'intérêt spécifique de ce type de projectile repose sur sa déformation plastique qui dépend des propriétés du matériau employé, en particulier de sa loi de déformation. Cette étude théorique a été faite à l'aide d'un code explicite 3D aux éléments finis. Elle met en évidence quelles sont les propriétés du matériau qui sont importantes suivant la situation du choc. On a utilisé différentes vitesses d'impact (basse ~ 300 m/s, artillerie ~ 800 m/s, élevée ~ 1600 m/s).The penetration mechanisms of SAP-warheads through steel plates are investigated.
