INTERMEDIATE ENERGY NUCLEAR PHYSICS WITH POLARISED DEUTERONS

Nous examinons en particulier une sélection d'expériences possibles de première génération pour un faisceau de deuteron d'énergie intermédiaire. Nous montrons que la réaction p([MATH], 2p)n peut servir d'analyseur valable pour la polarisation tensorielle du deuteron dans l'intervalle 1–3 GeV/c. Nous discutons l'effet des interactions dans l'état final au polarimètre vectoriel de LAMPF.A selection of possible first generation experiments is outlined for an intermediate energy deuteron beam. It is shown that the p([MATH], 2p)n reaction can serve as a valuable analyser for the deuteron tensor polarisation in the 1 - 3 GeV/c range. The effect of final tate interactions on the LAMPF vector polarimeter is discussed
