La dépendance en fréquence du signal photoacoustique est utilisée pour étudier la relaxation non radiative du rubis (Al2O3 : Cr3+). Une corrélation quantitative avec des données optiques indique que, pour T ≥ 200 K, le rendement quantique total de la fluorescence n'est pas déterminé exclusivement par la relaxation (2E→4A2).The modulation frequency dependence of the PA response has been utilized to study the nonradiative relaxation of photoexcited ruby (Al2O3 : Cr3+). A quantitative correlation with optical data indicates that at T≥200 K the overall fluorescence quantum efficiency is not solely governed by the (2E→4A2) relaxation
