Les déplacements isomères de l'Ir193 dans une série de complexes de chlorates d'Iridium dans des états d'oxydation + 1, + 1,1, + 1,4 et + 2 diminuent avec les états d'oxydation croissants. Cette variation est l'inverse de celle due à une diminution de l'effet d'écran des électrons s par diminution du nombre des électrons d : cette variation est attribuée à l'effet combiné d'un fort caractère π antibande et 6s dans la couche 5d par changement de l'état d'oxydation.
