On étudie par effet Mössbauer du 57Fe le processus de séparation de phases dans un alliage magnétique Alnico 5. Après trempe à partir d'une région monophasée, les échantillons minces sont recuits isothermiquement et les spectres Mössbauer sont enregistrés à la température ambiante. L'analyse par ordinateur des spectres Mössbauer montre que l'alliage subit une décomposition spinodale vers 800°C ; la phase d'équilibre riche en FeCo commence à se former au bout de 5 secondes environ.
