Des expériences ont été effectuées sur des solénoides de petite dimension, bobinés à l'aide de fil commercial à filaments multiples. Ces solénoides supraconducteurs sont branchés sur une alimentation en courant continu qui croît progressivement dans le temps jusqu'à la transition à l'état normal. Les données sur la caractéristique de la charge et sur la transition sont enregistrées sur un système d'acquisition de données à cadence modérée. Le transitoire est enregistré sur un oscilloscope digital à mémoire à deux canaux, puis transféré vers le système d'acquisition de données.
