Des études par effet Mössbauer et par d'autres méthodes montrent que dans La1-xSrxCoO3 (x > 0,125), des agrégats ferromagnétiques riches en Sr2+ coexistent dans une même phase cristallographique avec des régions paramagnétiques riches en La3+, la composante ferromagnétique augmentant quand x augmente et quand T diminue. Les trous 3d créés par substitution de Sr2+ sont itinérants, aussi bien au-dessus qu'en dessous de Tc, comme il ressort de la conductivité électrique et du coefficient de Seebeck.
