The exergy method of thermodynamic analysis is used to evaluate the efficiency of proposed Biomass Integrated-Gasifier/Gas Turbine (BIG/GT) power cycles, which are being considered for application in Brazilian industries and public utilities. The performance of systems utilizing a GE LM2500 gas turbine integrated with pressurized or nearly-atmospheric pressure fluidized-bed gasifiers is studied from the exergetic viewpoint. A thermoeconomic evaluation is made for both configurations, based on recently published preliminary capital cost estimates
