This paper describes a synthesis procedure for strictly positive real observer based controllers. In particular, we address the standard H2 optimal control problem with the additional constraint on the strict positive realness of the controller. A suboptimal version of this problem is shown to be a convex optimization problem, LMI-based solutions are provided. One example illustrates the main results.32355359
