The epidemiological studies can be primary or secondary. Among the former, we mention the cross-sectional studies (controlled or not - prevalence studies), which is rather easier in execution, and longitudinal studies (such as those of incidence evaluation). We highlight studies that focus on morbidity or mortality rates, but also those aiming to assess quality of life, quality of care, and economical analysis. Among the secondary ones, we mentioned those from regular registers, such as the Epidemic Surveillance and of DATASUS.
