The National Demonstration Project on Epilepsy has sensitized epilepsy lay associations across the country in a joint effort to help bringing epilepsy out of the shadows in Brazil since 2003. The third edition of the National Week of Epilepsy took place in forty-one cities covering all regions in the country. The main objective of this activity was to bring awareness of this condition for the community and also for patients and their relatives. The strategy employed was an uniform message "Citizenship". There were distributions of folders, public manifestations, social activities, lectures and concentrated in a week of activities.
