La construcción sociocultural del miedo y el coraje en un internado de religiosas. una narración personal contada con necesidad

Since 2007 I started a theoretical and methodological challenge by proposing the study of the psychogenic disorder or mass hysteria that afflicted over 500 females students of a boarding school of religious females in Mexico. The already stated defiance was oriented from the perspective of a Critical Biological Anthropology which highlights the body beyond Biology, that is to say, that the body itself is conceived as a space of production of meaning which involves a circuit between thought, speech, feeling and praxis. From this point of view, I was able to envisage the relevance on bodily responses that are given by a large amount of emotions, which have always been within a context bound to a particular situation. Both cases are stressed by power and dominance relationships where the female students are immersed in. In this article, I will present the vigorous and deeply emotional narrative of Lili, an exintern, who was studying the third year of high school at the moment where the mass hysteria exploded, showing the key elements to its understanding. The present work is oriented from my narrative voice in order to understan and explain within a theoretical and methodological framework the own narrative voice of Lili. She takes, without a doubt, a central part due to her wide perspective to explain the phenomenon.Desde el 2007 inicié un desafío teórico-metodológico al proponer estudiar el trastorno psicogénico o histeria colectiva que aquejó a más de 500 alumnas de un internado de religiosas en México. Dicho desafío se orientó desde la Antropología Física Crítica que destaca al cuerpo más allá de la biología, es decir como espacio de producción de sentido que refiere un circuito entre pensamiento- discurso-sentimiento-praxis. Desde esta noción pude vislumbrar la importancia de respuestas corporales pautadas por numerosas emociones, las cuales siempre hicieron referencia a un contexto y a una situacionalidad, en ambos casos, tensados por relaciones de poder y dominación en las que se encuentran inmersas las internas. En esta participación expondré la narrativa vigorosa y profundamente emocional de Lili, una ex interna, quien estudiaba el 3º de secundaria en el internado, cuando en éste se desató la epidemia de histeria, mostrando elementos claves para la comprensión de la misma. El presente trabajo se orienta a través de mi voz narrativa, a fin de ordenar y exponer en un marco de referencias teórico y conceptual la propia voz narrativa de Lili. Pero ésta última, sin duda, cobra la centralidad debido a la amplia mirada para explicar el fenómeno.
