Add to ORKGThis research aimed at developing the speaking skill through narrative text. The population of this research was the grade XI students of SMA Negeri 1 Sindue. The researcher employed purposive sampling technique and adopted two classes of the students that were given pre-test and post-test. The result of the data analysis showed that the t-counted value of (3.174) was higher than t-table value of (2.000) by applying 0.05 level of significance and the degree of freedom (df) 58. It means that the application of narrative text can develop the speaking skill of grade XI students of SMA Negeri 1 Sindue. Keywords: Developing; Speaking Skill; Narrative Text
