This dissertation have as objective analyze the foundations of the recreational societies Cruz e Sousa and União Operária, built by afro-descendants in Laguna, Santa Catarina, in the post-Abolition period, that comprises the years of 1903 to 1950. This study pretends, by your time, apprehend aspects of the afro-descendants experiences, especially the spaces of sociability, in the south region of Santa Catarina. The analyzes sought evidence the organization of the recreational clubs, as well as their administration activities, seeking to comprehend the dynamic of these spaces of sociability. We also seek to understand the meanings for these two recreational societies were divided between subjects that identify themselves as blacks and others...
