The meaning of the teacher work and uses of technology of the UCA project

The educational policies of the past two decades in Brazil, have promoted the inclusion of technological tools in the classrooms and in training teachers to use communication and information technology in classes. Among those policies is the One Computer per Child Program (UCA), it is one of the latest projects from the Ministry of Education. This research objective was to understand the implications that the insertion of the technological tools of the PROCUA brings to the meaning of teaching, in special for the teachers who work in the public schools participating in the project. In order to achieve this objective, five teachers from a public school in Florianopolis, who have been working with the educational computer for two year were interviewed. Trough interviews we sought to: better understand the participating teacher s professional career; analyze the relation between the educational computers in school with the teachers work; analyze the meanings of this new technology and the related policies related to the PROUCA. Data analyses were made using the History-Cultural Psychology. This study shows that most teaches, in fact, does not use the educational computer in his daily work. Using the machines only sporadically, it does not seem that the teachers have incorporated the new teaching practices, consequently it does not seem that an impact on the teachers relation with work has happened. Teacher with less practice with technologies had bigger difficulties using it in work, needing constant tech support and avoiding to use the educational computer. There is a necessity for continuous training for those teachers, this is shown in the lack of planning those teacher had in using the educational computers because they does not feel prepared to use the technology.No âmbito da educação brasileira, as políticas educacionais das últimas duas décadas têm promovido a inserção de artefatos tecnológicos nos contextos escolares e a formação de professores para a utilização das tecnologias da informação e comunicação nos processos educativos. Dentre estas políticas, o Programa Um Computador por Aluno (UCA), do Ministério de Educação, é uma das mais recentes iniciativas em vigência. O objetivo desta pesquisa foi compreender as implicações que as inserções tecnológicas, decorrentes de políticas educacionais do PROUCA, trazem para os sentidos do trabalho docente, em especial, aos professores que atuam em escolas públicas participantes desse Programa. A fim de alcançarmos este objetivo, entrevistamos cinco professores de uma escola da Grande Florianópolis que possui os laptops educacionais há cerca de dois anos. Através de entrevistas, buscou-se: aprofundar a trajetória profissional dos professores participantes do estudo; analisar a relação dos laptops educacionais presentes na escola com o trabalho dos professores; analisar os sentidos atribuídos às novas tecnologias e as respectivas políticas que visam sua inserção, especialmente as relacionadas ao PROUCA. A análise dos dados foi realizada a partir do viés da Psicologia Histórico Cultural. Por meio deste estudo, percebeu-se que os professores, em sua maioria, não incorporaram de fato o laptop educacional ao seu cotidiano de trabalho. Utilizando a máquina esporadicamente e de maneira funcional, não parece ter ocorrido o processo de apropriação de práticas inovadoras para as práticas pedagógicas e, por consequência, um maior impacto nas relações com o trabalho. Àqueles professores com menor proximidade com as tecnologias digitais, é maior a dificuldade de autonomia sobre esses processos no trabalho, necessitando de constante ajuda técnica, ou evitando o uso do computador. A necessidade de contínua formação a estes educadores se evidencia através da falta de planejamento que os professores referem, evidenciando que não se sentem preparados para pensar os usos das tecnologias digitais de forma autônoma.Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superio
