The recent advancements in numerical methods have led to the development of commercial software specifically designed to simulate metal forming processes, such as forging, extrusion and deep drawing amongst others. The simulation of these problems requires a prior knowledge of the mechanical properties of materials, e.g. elastic and plastic parameters. Therefore, it is important to develop strategies and algorithms able to accurately evaluate such properties.
