International audienceThe present study concerns laser surface texturing and is,more particularly, about its simulation. Indeed, the industry can be sometime interesting to change the surface/tribological properties of a material. The process, which was used is a nanosecond pulsed laser (fiber) applied on the whole workpiece boundaries. The posterior analysis of experimental samples, shows a formation of ejected rings for each laser shot. The deformation shape is not similar to the metal ejection that can be observed for drilling or welding. As we are not able to observe experimentally the origin of this fast phenomenon, we have chosen to try to understand it numerically.
