This is a literary novel with a theme of human reaction to past war crimes both from the perspective of those investigating them and the perpetrators themselves. The two key protagonists are Jacob Green, a brilliant young Jewish Rabbi and Peter Fassbinder a rapidly rising London Barrister who join forces in their hunt to track down and prosecute an ageing Nazi war criminal called Friederich Albitz who has evaded capture by the authorities for over fifty years.
