There is wide spread interest in growing and exploiting microalgae for fuel and sustainable food production. The lipid, protein, carbohydrate and vitamin content of microalgae are not only species dependent but are also a function of their growth parameters, such as temperature, CO2 concentration, nutrients and light. Work is currently investigating each stage of these processes from growth, dewatering to component extraction, sustainable production systems and recipe development
