<b>Objective</b>: To assess as premedicants, the sedative, cardiorespiratory and propofol-sparing effects in dogs of dexmedetomidine and buprenorphine compared to acepromazine and buprenorphine. <b>Study design</b>: Prospective, randomised, blinded clinical study <b>Animals</b>: Sixty healthy dogs (ASA grades I/II).
