PENGARUH KOMUNITAS GRAFITI DI YOGYAKARTA DAN KAIRO DALAM AKSI PROTES TERHADAP PEMERINTAH

The main objective of this research is to explain the significance influence of graffiti community in Yogyakarta and Kairo in the protest towards government. Besides, this research is also provides an explanation about the function and the important role of public sphere in both cities as a communication media when the mainstream way unable to accomodate it. The things that has caught the writer's attention and curiosity to write this topic is the uniqeness of social movements which use grafiti as a media communication in the protest towards government. The writer reviews the Social movement theory consisting of new social movement theory and Public sphere theory as her literature. Methodologically, this research is using qualitative data analysis technique through data collected from library research and doing an interview with the member of grafiti community. The result of this research indicates that political condition and strategy (organizing protest, the theme and the type of graffiti, graffiti placement, actors) are the factors that cause the significance influence of the grafiti community in Yogyakarta and Cair
