Peran Modal Sosial Dalam Pelestarian Budaya Lokal Studi Kasus Pada Upacara Tradisional Yaaqowiyyu Di Desa Jatinom Kecamatan Jatinom Kabupaten Klaten Jawa Tengah

Indonesian people is growing along with cultural diversity. Yaaqowiyyu is one example of the heritages local culture which its preservation still maintained.The supports of community and government are thekey of the existence of Yaaqowiyyu. Local culture is the result of experience, knowledge and history of the community soit became a parts and life of people as well as its reflection. Thevillagers of Jatinom are the people who hasgood social capital. The availability of social capital in society is the key of the existence of Yaaqowiyyu. The purpose ofthis research is to comprehend the role ofsocial capital in the Jatinom community for the preservation of Yaaqowiyyu.The method used in this research is qualitative. Qualitative method was applied to comprehend for a better case. Data collecting in this research is observation, interview and documentation. Totalinforman in this research is 19 persons consisting:Jatinom villagers, the committee of P3KAG and government.The uniqueness of the examined case is social capital used in the daily life to maintain the spirit of cultural tradition and preserve its local culture. There are four meanings of the Yaaqowiyyu: as a tradition, economic security, as realization of silaturahmi and as a form of thankfulness. This definition draws a common goal, that ispreserving Yaaqowiyyu.This common goal encourages various forms of action and activitiesto achieve them. Social capital created within the community to join in strengthening and attainment the common goal. The mechanism of social capital existin society or community is trust, responsibility, network, reciprocity, values and norms. Trust in the community will transmit intoresponsibility bothindividually and collectively, as well as influence for interaction and bonding within the community and arising social virtues in the form of reciprocity. A common goal in Jatinomcommunity is based on the existing norms and values. All of these will be accumulated for supporting patterns from Jatinomvillagers along with the celebration of the traditional ceremony of Yaaqowiyyu. Social capital is importantto reach a collective goal. Social capital exist and can be find intodaily life of jatinomvillagers and can be use to maintain and preserve the tradition oflocal culture. The role of social capital in Yaaqowiyyuis to make all people and community to take aparts and jointhrough expanding the scope of social capital elements by using network. In addition to it, trust is used to build solidarity and togetherness in a community.Norms ascontrol socialand as the rule of reciprocityis to improve social care. Social capital is the capability of society to organize themselves in order to fight for our common purpose through common action
