STRATEGI PEMULIHAN PENGHIDUPAN MASYARAKAT (LIVELIHOOD) MELALUI USAHA EKOWISATA VOLCANO TOUR PASCA BENCANA ERUPSI MERAPI TAHUN 2010

The eruptions of Mount Merapi that occurred in October 2010 until November 2010 causes the impact of physical and socio-economic governance of local communities. Umbulharjo village is a village that suffered the most severe damage, the disaster caused Umbulharjo village communities must do their livelihood recovery efforts in the long run. The existence of ecotourism \\"Volcano Tour\\" in the Merapi area which is being developed into a post-disaster stimulus to local communities to recover independently and as a strategy to improve the livelihoods of their communities for the better. This study aims to (1) describe the change in the ownership of assets, access and community activities after Merapi eruption in 2010 and (2) identify changes in strategy undertaken by the business community ecotourism \\"Volcano Tour\\" as a change in livelihood recovery in the future. This study was conducted with a sampling technique that is purposive sampling. Informants were selected households ecotourism entrepreneurs. For the analysis technique, descriptive qualitative analysis is used to describes the object of the research is based on data and variables obtained from informants who have been determined in accordance with the purpose of research. Data was collected through observation, indepth interview to get more information on, and review of secondary data. The results showed that the eruption of Merapi in 2010 give effect to changes the condition of assets, access, and activity. Damage including damage to farm lands , agricultural, livestock, and water conditions. Natural assets greatly affect the high number tourists of ecotourism Volcano Tour. In the variable physical assets also suffered damage because most households are only able to bring a personal vehicle to evacuate during a disaster takes place. Nowadays physical assets influential in determining the type of business entrepreneurs Volcano Tour. Variables of financial assets is also changing as a result of the disaster. Currently, household income has increased due to the presence of ecotourism. Human asset variables also affect the household to increase revenue in the current crisis, and social assets in the form of relationships also affect the speed of recovery of household. Variables such damaged access roads and water affecting the basic needs of the household. However, assistance is also provided to improve the lives of post-disaster. Strategy changes shortly after the disaster many households do by doing odd jobs to raise capital before engaging in ecotourism. Livelihood recovery strategies continue to be developed to maintain their income adjusted for each capability
