Isolation, structure identification, and toxicity test of bioactive compounds from sponge Clathria sp. collected in Barrang Lompo Sea, South Sulawesi had been carried out. Isolation was performed by maceration with a mixture of methanol:dichloromethane (3:2 v/v). The dichloromethane extract was then concentrated and partitioned in ethyl acetate:water (1:1 v/v). Ethyl acetate fraction was separated and evaporated to obtain crude extract. The crude extract was separated by column chromatography with increasing polarity of the eluents from n-hexane, chloroform, dichloromethane, ethyl acetate to methanol.
