Analisis Kurva U- terbalik (Hipotesis Kuznets) Studi Kasus Indonesia seluruh Provinsi periode 2002-2012

The purpose of this study is to see the ongoing income inequality in Indonesia. This study focuses on three main objectives, namely to know the magnitude of the economic growth rate of each province in Indonesia, knowing the level of income inequality in each province of Indonesia, and determine whether the Kuznets Hypothesis applies in Indonesia during the research period. The model is used to adapt the models built by Melikhova and �ížek (2012). The database used in this study is a secondary data obtained from the annual Statistics Center Bureau (BPS). The data used is the data of each province in Indonesia based on constant 2000 prices. Analysis related to economic growth rates and levels of income inequality as well as the data used to test the Kuznets Hypothesis has a time span of 2002-2012. The results of this study show that the inequality trend GDP per capita of each province in Indonesia during 2002 to 2012 is quite varied, there are some regions/provinces that have a positive forms, but in some regions/provinces have a tendency to negative forms. Then, there are different forms of inequality of GDP per capita trends for 2002 to 2012 based on each index of inequality (Williamson index, Theil Entropy Index, and Sigma Convergence/Coefficient of Variation). And, the Kuznets Hypothesis (U-inverted curve) proved to be not applicable in Indonesia during 2002 to 2012, and it shows that inequality is getting worse
