PERANCANGAN PUSAT LANSIA (SENIOR COMMUNITY CENTER)DI YOGYAKARTA DENGAN PENDEKATANMETODE SEMIOTIK

Elderly people is one of the most important part in society. Designing for the elderly can be equated with designing for the future, because aging and being old are the future for every human being. Senior Citizen, despite have undergone a decrease in their physical and mental health, but they still have the same needs as any other non-elder citizen. Such as, activites, socialization, and also recreation and entertainment acitivies. Unfortunately, the number of Senior Citizen facilites in the city is close to none, because most of the public facilites are designed for the productive age citizen or kids. Therefore, Yogyakarta, as a city with the highest number of Senior citizen in Indonesia needs a Senior Community Center. The facility aim for the elderly people to express their existence and to facilitated every activites and social encouter that related to elderly people, so the elderly people are able to optimized their days and increased their life quality in their endmost days
