Calcium hydroxide is widely used as a root canal dressing material because of its favorable alkalinizing effect. In particular, it will release hydroxyl ions which then diffuses into the dentin tubules and produce pH of more than 11. The aims of this study is to determine the effect of contact time of calcium hydroxide paste mixed with 2% of chlorhexidine digluconate, saline, and 2% of lidocaine HCl as a sterilization material on the dentin pH on the apical third of the root dentin.
