PEMBUATAN BAHAN PERISAI RADIASI TRANSPARAN UNTUK DINDING GLOVE BOX PADA INSTALASI KEDOKTERAN NUKLIR MENGGUNAKAN PADUAN AKRILIK BESI

Nuclear installations often required transparent shielding, no exception in hospitals with radiology and nuclear medicine installations. In nuclear medicine, shielding transparent is typically used on radioactive storage and also used as a glove box. Materials that commonly used are lead glass. This material has very good optical quality but there are some drawbacks, such as it has large mass density and is easily broken, the price is very expensive, and to obtain them is not easy because there are only manufacturers overseas. This research try to make acrylic iron alloy that will be used as transparent radiation shielding. The aim was to determine the characteristics of the material and the relationship between the compositions of the material characteristics. Ferrous metals are in sulfur compounds. Characteristics that we want to determine is the radiation attenuation coefficient and compressive strength. This research was made four kind of sample, that is pure acrylic, 10 : 1, 10 : 2, and 10 : 3 (10 is for acryli
