Sênthong Tengah Pada Beberapa Dalêm Di Jêron Beteng, Yogyakarta (Kajian Atas Perubahan Fungsi Dan Bentuk)

A house as a living place used as human�s sanitary, made from different form with same function. A house not only used as place for living or place to do domestic things, but also used to reflect different kind of culture and society� civilization for example, Joglo form house in Yogyakarta has room arrangement that suited by Javanese cultural activity, such as sênthong tengah as a room for Dewi Sri (prosperous goddess). Sênthong tengah is a part of the house that used for a place to keep seeds, roots, and grain, sometimes it also used for praying to God. This research were held in Jêron Beteng, area that covering kraton as ruler center in Yogyakarta. As time goes by, kraton and its surrounding area keeps changing, sênthong tengah changing too. A place that used for sacred rite now were less sacred. Its form changed too, this kind of transformation can seen easily. A house transformation depends on its owner desire. This research try to find out various kind of function and form transformation that happends to sênthong tengah in some dalêm in Jêron Beteng Yogyakarta, and classified it. This research also try to find out reason why the transformation happend. This research�s characteristic is descriptive that illustrate nature of a situation, indication, an individual or some group. This research also use inductive way of intellectual activity that try to find out with logic, a situation without expect anything before. Analysis process that used are classificate evidencess and factoring to find out reason behind the tranformation. Approaching proccess in this research were with observing the house and interview. As the result, it is find out that form and function transformation happend to second sênthong tengah in Dalêm Mangkubumen, sênthong tengah in Dalêm Joyokusuman, sênthong tengah in Dalêm Prabukusuman, sênthong tengah in Dalêm Purbayan, and sênthong tengah in Dalêm Ngabean. Functional transformation without form transformation happend to first sênthong tengah in Dalêm Mangkubumen, sênthong tengah in Dalêm Kaneman, and sênthong tengah in Dalêm Pakuningratan. Form transformation without function transformation happend to sênthong tengah in Dalêm Benawan. There are no sênthong tengah that aren�t change. This transformation caused by five different factors. First, change in area�s using. Second, form transformation caussed by function transformation. Third, change in owner�s desire. Fourth, change in house occupant ideology. Fifth, house occupant desire now to follows standard sênthong tengah�s form
