This terephtalic acid plant was designed with a capacity of 50,000 tons per year. Terephtalic acid is produced using p-xylene as raw material by oxidation with air and planned to operate continuously for 330 days a year. The plant will be completely built in 2014. Terephtalic acid plant consists of three main processes, namely preparation, synthesis, and purification products. The temperature and pressure of raw material is prepared, based on reactor�s operating conditions. In the reactor, raw materials react with air to produce terephtalic acid, with cobalt acetate as catalyst and acetic acid as solvent.
