A study of iodine isotope adsorption using activated carbon made from coconut shell coal has been conducted. The objective of this study was to determine the ability of activated coconut shell carbon with varied parameter, and furthermore it can be used to be an adsorbent material in iodine trap column either for producing 131I radioisotope or iodine waste treatment. Adsorption process performed using a vertical column system with downwards fluid flow direction. Variance conducted on adsorbent were column lengths of 5 cm, 7 cm, and 9 cm along with activated carbon grain sizes of 100 mesh, 150 mesh, and 200 mesh.
