Discrete Event System (DES) is a class of event-driven systems that are nonlinear in conventional algebra. DES with only synchronization can be modeled into linear models in max-plus algebra. These are known as Max-Plus-Linear system (MPL). This Thesis discussed model predictive control (MPC) for MPL system. Using the properties of max-plus algebra we can derive a sufficient condition such that the explicit form of MPC controller can be obtained, state of MPL system convergent to equilibrium state in a finite time step, and the obtained MPC is a stabilizing controller for MPL system
