PENGARUH PUPUK HAYATI MIKORIZA TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN DAN KESEHATAN BIBIT KAKAO

Cocoa is one of the major commodities, which 60% to 70% are smallholders many miserable conditions, old and poorly maintained plant, and from diverse varieties. So it necessary increase in productivity by replanting and intensive plant maintenance. Laboratory of Agricultural Mycology, Faculty of Agriculture UGM (Gadjah Mada University) in collaboration with Balai Besar Perbenihan dan Proteksi Tanaman Perkebunan (BBPPTP) Surabaya produced biofertilizer named �Glomofert� which contains Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi (AMF). This study aims to determine the level of effectiveness and infectivity of mycorrhizal biofertilizer on the growth and health of cocoa seedlings. The parameters of this observation such as plant height observations, leaves number, root infection and spore populations. The design is Randomized Complete (RAL) and if there is a real difference will be followed by Duncan's test`s Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The results showed that cocoa seedlings inoculated mycorrhizal biofertilizer age 5 months has better growth than those not inoculated. For observation of root infection cocoa until the age of 5 months, the percentage of root infection were inoculated mycorrhizal biofertilizer higher than the control treatment. Symptoms that arise during the process of the cocoa seedling is leaf spot disease (antraknose), caused by Colletotrichum gloeosporioides with disease intensity on mycorrhizal biofertilizer inoculation treatment is lower compared to the treatment without inoculation. Growth of cocoa seedlings in the field until the age of 8 months which inoculated with mycorrhizal biofertilizer (P1, P2, and P3) is better than not inoculated by mycorrhizal biofertilizer (P0 and P4). The level of root infection 8 months old cocoa seedlings which inoculated mycorrhizal biofertilizer (P1, P2, and P3) is higher than not inoculated mycorrhizal biofertilizer (P0 and P4).
