KOMPOSISI JENIS PENYUSUN AGROFORESTRI DAN POTENSI SIMPANAN KARBON DI DESA NGLANGGERAN, KECAMATAN PATUK, GUNUNG KIDUL

Increasing the number of population causes the food requirements and land as a residence increasing and than their activities cause much pollution in the air. Agroforestry comes as a solution to these problems. Agroforestry can produce a variety of products with the same area and it can also store carbon. The purpose of this study to determine the species composition and the carbon sink potencyl in various agroforestry systems. This study uses a survey method is purposive sampling (the respondents are landowners who developed agroforestry system). The research was done in Nglanggeran village that consist of homegardens (10 areas), mixed gardens (8 areas) and forest gardens (6 areas). Data analysis for determining species composition used important value index (IVI), while the carbon sink potency was determined by using allometric equations and approading of biomass estimation using by wood density for species that have no equivalent allometric. The results from this research were 27 species of homegardens, 24 species of mixed gardens and 21 species of forest gardens. The highest IVI for timber buildings, furniture, crafts, firewood, charcoal and cast board in homegardens were, teak, acacia and the highest IVI forest gardens were acacia, mahogany, sonokeling. The highest IVI for MPTS (multi propose trees species) in homegardens were cocoa, coconut, melinjo, rambutan, the highest IVI mixed gardens were petai, coconut, rambutan and jackfruit. The highest IVI forest gardens were coconut, petai and melinjo. Carbon sink potency in homegardens is 77,802 tons / ha, carbon sink potency in mixed gardens is 56,493 tons / ha and Carbon sink potency in forest gardens is 11 tons / ha
