Halophilic bacteria are group of bacteria that live and growth in high salt concentration environment. It could be found in sea water, pond, and mud at which the salt concenration is high. Among members of halophilic bacteria, some of them could produce extracellular protease. Protease useful enzyme for various industries such as tannery, food, and detergent industries. On our previous study, we obtained four halophilic bacteria which were able to produce protease, i.e. BKL-1, BKL-4, BKL-5 and LC-2.
