MANAJEMEN KESEHATAN SAPI KERING DI UNIT PELAKSANA TEKNIS DINAS BALAI PENGEMBANGAN BIBIT PAKAN TERNAK DAN DIAGNOSTIK KEHEWANAN YOGYAKARTA

Dry period is the termination of milking period before the parent regenerates. Dry period is very important for every parent who will give birth again or production. The purpose of this thesis was to evaluate cow�s herd health management in UPTD BPBPTDK Yogyakarta. The material used in this thesis is cow �s herd in UPTD BPBPTDK Yogyakarta. The method used in this activity is cage observation, interviews, see and participate in practice in the cow�s herd maintenance activities during the Job Training starting June 4 through March 9, 2013. The results is seven cows. Drying on cow�s herd started at the age of seven months of pregnancy, performed later, the cows are milked only once a day for several days. The next day is milked and then next day again is not milked, then the parent are milked once of three days until finally it is not milked at all. Some lacking things have been founded such as management cage with the cage floor flat, feed management that there is no difference of the provision of concentrate in dry and lactating cow�s herd, lack of exercise in cow�s herd, and on health management and disease prevention are not implemented properly. Based on these data it can be concluded that the dry cow�s herd health management in Yogyakarta BPBPTDK UPTD is still less optimal
