Topic In this study, it was discussed the layout of Temanggung City during Dutch colonial period. The observation was focused in Temanggung City, around Jampirejo, Jampiroso, Bayuuurip, Kertosari, and Temanggung II neighborhoods existing in Temanggung municipal. In this thesis research, it was explained about the form of Temanggung City during Dutch Colonial period reflecting its layout. Besides, it also discussed the factors affecting the formation layout of Temanggung City. Subject and Objective The problem discussed in this study was about layout of Temanggung City during Dutch Colonial period. Besides, it also discussed the factors affecting the formation layout of Temanggung City. The general objective of this study was to find out how the form of layout of Temanggung City was during Dutch Colonial period and what its affecting factors were. Method This study was a descriptive stud with inductive reasoning model. Macro urban spatial analyze used in this study because the interpretation is connected to urban spatial matters which is referred to Temanggung City. Those analyzes are done by connecting each data gained as building components, road, and plndedurban spatial which are correlatedto environment state. Results expected to answer the problems and also synchronize with purposes of this study. Conclusion This study results that Temanggung urban arrangement in 1834-1942 during Dutch Colonial period tended to follow the axis model appropriate with the form of Temanggung City following star/octopus form. It was said following axis patter meant that it followed the axis form but the system tended to concentrate on following the road and form the development of field built existing in Temanggung City, tending to depend on the existing road. The development of layout in Temanggung City during Dutch Colonial period at least was affected by four factors: (1) Geographical factor seen from the flat topography of Temanggung City with wide enough field availability and strategic location of Temanggung City as trade route. (2) economical factor, seen from the close location of buildings supporting economy of Temanggung City. (3) Political factor, seen from the location and building appropriate with the major authority at that time. (4) Social factor, seen from the existence of social status difference and residents separation
