Remote sensing technology grows fast nowadays, one of indicators is the application of LiDAR technology, which has an ability to model the earth surface in 3D. LiDAR is a mapping technology using laser ray attached on the the airplane. The output of data LiDAR recorded are point clouds representing DSM (Digital Surface Model) and DEM (Digital Elevation Model). The aim of this research was to compare the trees geometry from DSM and DEM as parts of LiDAR technology, in order to predict the parameter of trees volume calculation, with the measurement result data.
