MASJID MUHAMMAD CHENG HOO INDONESIA (KAJIAN TENTANG ARSITEKTUR BANGUNAN DAN KEGIATAN DI MASJID)

Built in 2002 on a large block of land near the center of Surabaya, The Muhammad Cheng Hoo Mosque represents the first ethnic Chinese mosque in Indonesia. This mini thesis describes the acculturation between Chinese identity and Islam identity of the mosque�s architectural design. It describes the establishment of the mosque, its committees, and also also examines whether the mosque has some particular religious or non-religious activities that hardly found in other mosques. Data collection for this mini thesis is based on review of secondary literature, followed by primary field observation and in-depth interview conducted leading figure of the mosque
