PENGARUH PEMBERIAN USAHA KESEHATAN JIWA SEKOLAH TERHADAP TINGKAT KECEMASAN SISWA SEKOLAH DASAR KELAS VI DALAM MENGHADAPI UJIAN NASIONAL DI SEYEGAN

Background: Increased standard score of national test causes anxiety in elementary school students. Anxiety toward national test will disrupt cognitive function and concentration of the students. Therefore intervention is needed to overcome the problem through the implementation of school mental health effort. Objective: To identify effect of school mental health effort implementation to level of anxiety of elementary school students of grade VI in taking national test at Seyegan, Sleman, Yogyakarta. Method: The study was an experiment with pre test � post test control group design, involving 114 respondents with 57 students as intervention group and 57 students as control group. Level of anxiety in this study was assessed using Revised Children�s Manifest Anxiety Scale (RCMAS). Result: In the intervention group, average score of anxiety in pre test was 9.72 and post test was 6,72 and p=0.000 (p<0.05) which meant that there was significant difference. Meanwhile in the control group, average score of anxiety in pre test was 9.07 and post test was 8.89 and p=0.730 (p>0.05) which showed no significant difference.
