The bark of Rhizopora sp. was used to manufacture bark-based particleboard with organic adhesive in order to utilize an abundant bark resource for a better valueadded application. In this research, a water solution in which citric acid and sucrose were dissolved was used as an organic adhesive. A good ester linkages were linked by either the carboxyl group of citric acid and hydroxyl groups of wood components, while sucrose function was to give some addition on hydroxyl group.
